Limiting beliefs are my favourite topic - i find tackling them super crucial! While they can protect you, they can also hold you back from living a fulfilling life full of joy and adventure.
But what are they exactly? They are thoughts or thought patterns, states of mind that are almost always present and deep in your subconscious. They are beliefs you think are the absolute truth (and you might not even know or notice it!). They can be about yourself, others or the world around you.
For example: the world is cruel and evil, money is bad, i am not good enough, i am too old, no one will ever like me, i do not deserve "insert something", i will never find a partner.
There are tools (courtesy of Tony Robbins and Byron Katie) to change them but it takes time and repetition. And first, noticing and identifying a limiting belief. Once you have got something, i am proposing to use the tools below to tackle them once and for all!
The Turnaround.
Let’s say your belief is, “It’s impossible to grow my business.”
Now, turn it around: “It’s totally possible to grow my business.”
Next, come up with at least 3 reasons why this new belief is true.
The more reasons you come up with, the stronger your new belief becomes.
This is especially powerful when you do it as a team at work around a shared limiting belief.
Pick a limiting belief you have about your career, business, health, or relationships.
Now, ask these 4 questions:
1. Is this true?
2. Can I absolutely know it’s true?
3. How do I react when I believe this thought?
4. Who would I be without this thought?
These 4 questions help you challenge the belief and create a new perspective.
I will leave a link to an article that can also be useful and the example is a common belief "I am not good enough":
